Photos in Mellieha
Saturday: 10-15 kts blue skies and lots of sun. A good day of shooting out in Mellieha, some stunning pics.
Sunday: 20-30kts gusty winds from the SWS. We were out pushing it hard, right on the 49er's limits...hitting 20kts boats speed downwind and all of a sudden...snap. The mast comes tumbling down. Carbon fibre splinters everywhere. Ben and I quickly dump the rigging and sails as we are quickly drifting out of Mellieha towards Sicily. We get rid of the rig and then spend a grueling hour or so paddling the boat back to land.
However at least we had enough time to finish the day off with a good little windsurf.

Photos at Dawn
Have some interesting pictures coming soon after another dawny. Good friend and pro photographer Kurt Arrigo came down to take some pics, so if you want to see some wicked shots check out our gallery later on this week...
We headed down early, again another 5.30 start. Beautiful sunrise and a good 15kts picking up to 20. Kurt came out on the rib and managed to snap a few pics until the rib, struggling to keep up, ran out of petrol. That didn't stop us though, and we carried on playing around in a beautiful 18kt breeze from the SW...perfect for zooming over to Sicily which we reckoned would have only taken us 4hrs!
